In traditional Ethernet, twisted pair is the main medium. The limit of transmission distance of twisted pair is about 100meters. Such a short transmission distance restricts the development of network. At the same time, twisted pair is greatly affected by electromagnetic interference, which undoubtedly affects the quality of data communication. The use of optical fiber transceivers will change the connecting medium in Ethernet into optical fiber. The low loss and high anti electromagnetic interference of optical fiber make the transmission distance of network expand from 200m to 2km, even tens of kilometers, even hundreds of kilometers, and also improve the quality of data communication. It makes it easier to connect servers, repeaters, hubs, terminals and terminals.
In practical application, there are three basic connection modes of optical transceiver:
1、 Ring backbone network
The support of ring backbone network for ieee.1q and ISL network features can ensure compatibility with most mainstream backbone networks, such as VLAN, trunk and other functions across switches. The ring backbone network can set up a broadband virtual private network for finance, government, education and other industries.
2、 Chain backbone
The chain backbone network can save a lot of backbone light by using the chain connection. It is suitable for constructing backbone network with high bandwidth and low price in the edge of the city and the surrounding counties. This mode can also be used in the environment of expressway, oil transportation and transmission lines. The support of chain backbone network for IEEE802.1Q and ISL network features can ensure compatibility with most backbone networks, and can set up broadband virtual private network for finance, government, education and other industries. The chain backbone network is a multimedia network which can provide the integrated transmission of image, voice, data and real-time monitoring.
3、 User access system

At the same time, with the functions of half duplex / full duplex self-adaptive and half duplex / full duplex automatic conversion, low-cost half duplex hub can be configured in the client, which can reduce the networking cost of the client dozens of times and improve the competitiveness of network operators. At the same time, the built-in switch core of the device improves the transmission efficiency of the access device, reduces the network broadcast, controls the flow, and detects the transmission failure.
